Caring Ministries has been blessed with five refrigerated box trucks, one dry box truck, and two pick up trucks that were purchased by grants and donations from caring individuals and organizations. Monday through Saturday, starting at 6:30 am, our faithful volunteers take one of the refrigerated trucks to 39 different grocery stores and outlets. The donations are then brought back to our warehouse where the food is sorted and distributed or placed in our food room, bread room, walk-in refrigerator, or freezer units for future distribution. We have over 50 distribution points in Tucson and along the border to Mexico. Last year, over 3.9 million pounds of food was distributed to over 244,000 people in need.
Jerry Gollihue, our Director, has stated many times, "What we do is not just about giving our food. It's about winning people to the Lord. The food is a way to help us accomplish this goal."
