Change.  It is not always easy.  In fact, many times it can be very painful, but it can also be useful to bring about more good.  Caring minstries has been experiencing a lot of changes over the last few months - sometimes painful, but in the long run they will be for good.  In this newsletter, I would like to share with you some of these changes.
Due to the increased cost of fuel, we have had to re-evaluat pickups of donated item.  It has been costing us over $2500 per month for fuel alone.  The greatest needs of the 52 churches, missions, and ministries that we serve in Tucson and along the AZ / Mexico border are for food and clothing.  We currently pick up and distribute about 350,000 lbs. of clothing.  After much prayer and consideration, we had to make the very difficult decision to no longer schedule furniture and appliance pickups.  This policy went into effect on January 1, 2006.  However, we are more than happy to receive these donations from those who can bring them to us.
We want to thank you, our donors, who have been so supportive through the years with your furniture, appliances, and household items.  You have enabled us to help many families in need.  We also want to thank each one of you for your prayers and financial support.  God has blessed his work at Caring Ministries through your faithfulness.
In His Service,
Jerry Gollihue
